|
|
|
Feldie brings you 2 hours of the hottest, swingin-est jazz and rhythm & blues--and, today, some gospel, as we celebrate the life of Ira Tucker, who sang with the legendary gospel group the Dixie Hummingbirds for 70 years. Tucker passed away last week at the age of 83. If you're in Philly, check out the Dixie Hummingbirds mural at Broad & Poplar. And check out my blog for some great videos. Today's show will also include several versions of Billie Holiday's "Don't Explain," one of only a handful of songs that the great singer wrote. All that and more on Lucky Old Souls, coming up at 2 P.M.
