Environmental Professionals: Contributions to Sustainability

We explore some of the myriad ways environmental professionals support sustainability.

Devi Ramkissoon is Executive Director of the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia (SBN). She has many years of experience in international development, specializing in working with sustainable businesses for economic growth and poverty reduction and has won numerous awards from the US Government and the private sector for her leadership navigating global humanitarian crises. She will discuss the ways that SBN helps businesses be sustainable.
Joseph Musil is on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Professionsals (PAEP) and has been a director at the national level as well. His professional expertise includes preparing: National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) environmental assessments, NPDES discharge permits for construction activities, resource conservation and preservation plans, and conducting independent third-party compliance monitoring and integrity audits on key projects and programs. He will describe how PAEP helps environmental engineers and biologists assess the sustainability of projects.
Liz Robinson is the Executive Director of the Philadelphia Solar Energy Association. She also is long-time advocate for environmental issues, particularly in the Philadelphia region. She will talk about the increases in energy prices for consumers and businesses and how to help these customers prepare for the upcoming changes.
