We explore some of the ways of deploying solar energy for groups of people and how to make them successful.

  • Dr. Peter Buck is a sustainability and climate change professional, public servant, and educator. Dr. Buck served as the Chair of the Centre County Solar Working Group. He has held elected office in municipal and school district government, serves in appointed positions on climate planning at the local and state level, and has been an officer in several educational and conservation NGO’s. He co-directs the Local Climate Action Program (LCAP) and is the Director of Education at Penn State Sustainability.  He will describe a new solar project in Centre County PA involving 10 different governmental entities purchasing solar power together, more governmental entities than have ever before collaborated on such an agreement in PA and possibly the nation.
  • Liz Robinson is the Executive Director of the Philadelphia Solar Energy Association. She also is long-time advocate for environmental issues, particularly in the Philadelphia region.  She will discuss some of the kinds of solar projects in Pennsylvania that provide energy for groups of people and the current situation in the state for developing more of these projects.
