Edward A. (Ted) Parson is Distinguished Dan and Rae Emmett Professor of Environmental Law and Faculty Director of the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the University of California, Los Angeles. He studies international environmental law and policy, the role of science and technology in policy-making, and the political economy of regulation. Parson has led and served on multiple advisory committees, such as for the National Academy of Sciences and the U.S. Global Change Research Program. Here, he talks about strategies recommended by the Climate Overshoot Commission, a senior independent international body, consisting of twelve distinguished individuals from around the world.

His work appears regularly in non-fiction works and textbooks as well as several publications including Forbes. He talks in this show about the problems with fossil fuel subsidies and hydrogen hubs, and better ways to make the necessary transitions to help with the climate crisis.
