The role of art in exploring and explaining our natural world: Environmental Artist Stacy Levy
Pennsylvania artist Stacy Levy is a sculptor who works with ecological natural patterns and processes. Stacy and host Kay Wood talk about the role of artists in a climate challenged world, and her installations that bring visibility to rainfall, water patterns, and other ecological processes within an urban environment. |
Flower power: Dr. Krish Jayachandran, Distinguished University Professor Florida International University. Fertilizer helps grow the crops that feed the world, but it also washes into nearby waterways creating serious problems, fueling algae blooms, making low-oxygen dead zones, and emitting GHG. Dr. Jayachandran tells us about an interesting new experiment using floating mats of flowers to clean up this pollution.
