Climate Change’s Effect on Women & Environmental News

This is Women’s History month, so we are concentrating on an often neglected aspect of climate change – its effects on women, mostly negative.

• Kathryn Stone is a research coordinator at Dalhousie University in Canada.  She will be discussing her research and that of others about the effect of climate change on women’s mental health.
• Lori Sokol, PhD is Executive Director of Women’s eNews.  She will be addressing gender-based violence on women resulting from climate change disruptions.​

• Alex Bomstein is Legal Director of the nonprofit organization Clean Air Council. He will discuss some good legal news for residents of Pennsylvania who experience pollution as well as talk about the effect of the planned burning of chemicals removed from the train derailment site in East Palestine, Ohio.
